Workers 'hiding illness details'
Posted Mon, 01 Feb
Many employees may be putting themselves at greater risk by hiding medical conditions such as depression or stress from their bosses, according to a new report.
Two out of five workers surveyed by pharmacy Lloyds believed it was acceptable not to inform their employer about an illness or a health problem.
And the survey of 2,000 adults found that women were less likely than men to reveal their full medical records.
Andy Murdock of Lloydspharmacy said: "Many people fear telling their employer about their medical condition, but keeping bosses in the dark can pose a number of risks.
"For example, an employer might unknowingly place an employee in a situation that exacerbates a health problem."
